Roblox introduces Kids, Select versions of their platform for users aged Under 9 and 9-16.

Roblox is introducing Roblox Kids and Roblox Select as part of a major safety update for younger users.The company says the new system will better match games, chat, and parental controls to a child’s age, while still preserving access to most popular experiences for users under 16. Children ages 5 to 8 will be placed in Roblox Kids, where communication is disabled by default and game access is limited to safer-rated experiences. Users ages 9 to 15 will move into Roblox Select, which allows more content but still keeps protections in place.

Once players turn 16, they will transition into standard Roblox accounts. For parents, the update adds more control over chat, game access, screen time, and spending, which could make Roblox easier to manage for families.
